If Protestantism is True
by: Devin Rose
What if Protestantism were true?
That's the question Rose takes up and explores. Each argument assumes Protestantism is true and then attempts to make sense of Christian history and theology based on that assumption. In this way, he presents a series of intelligible and compelling arguments for the Catholic Church's claim to be the Church that Christ founded.
Catholics will learn to defend their faith, and Protestants will be challenged to answer the toughest questions about the roots of their beliefs.

The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism
by: Max Weber
THE PROTESTANT ETHIC AND THE SPIRIT OF CAPITALISM is considered a founding text in economic capitalism, economic sociology and sociology in general.
In the book, Weber wrote that capitalism in Europe evolved when the Protestant ethic influenced large numbers of people to engage in work in the secular world, developing their own enterprises and engaging in trade and the accumulation of wealth for investment. In other words, the Protestant work ethic was a force behind a mass action that influenced the development of capitalism.

Daughters of Babylon: The Fall of Protestantism Part 1/6
Due to the Truthfulness of this message, biblical discernment is advised. Protestantism has slowly given way to the Papacy. It has clasped the hands of Spiritualism and has followed the doctrines and holidays of Rome. This warning is for all Christians to remove themselves from false systems of worship that do not seek to serve the living God in truth and sincerity. But rather teach that salvation can be purchased through financial means. Do not be deceived. May truth prevail. For God is a God of truth and love and righteousness.
16. Weber on Protestantism and Capitalism
Foundations of Modern Social Thought (SOCY 151) Max Weber wrote his best-known work after he recovered from a period of serious mental illness near the turn of the twentieth century. After he recovered, his work transitioned from enthusiastically capitalist and liberal in the tradition of Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill to much more skeptical of the down-sides of modernization, more similar to the thinking of Nietzsche and Freud. In his first major work, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber argues that the Protestant faith, especially Luther's notion of "calling" and the Calvinist belief in predestination set the stage for the emergence of the capitalist spirit. With his more complex understanding of the causes of capitalism, Weber accounts for the motivations of capitalists and the spirit of capitalism and rationalization in ways that Marx does not. 00:00 - Chapter 1.
